Testing Sessions & COVID-19

We know how important our exam sessions are to our candidates and we will do our best to hold our exams according to our published schedule. However, should circumstances preclude us from holding an exam on our scheduled date, then we will look at rescheduling and if that is not possible then in all likelihood, we'll just cancel that exam date and look forward to our next scheduled exam session. If you had pre-registered, you will be notified by email.

During the height of the pandemic, we did cancel some exam sessions and the ones we did have were tightly restricted to provide for a safe and comfortable environment for all concerned. However, since the levels of COVID are dropping and immunizations are widely available we have relaxed our strict restrictions.

To that end, masks are not required but strongly recommended. Social distancing will be provided in setting up of the exam room and will depend on the number of candidates we have on the day of the exam.

It is all of our responsibility to self-diagnose for symptoms of the virus and contact medical professionals for advice. It is critical that exam candidates do not come to the exam if experiencing respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, or fatigue. We encourage everyone to make responsible, sensible decisions.

To maintain a safe environment for you and our volunteers, we've adopted practices to protect the health of everyone attending our testing sessions, vaccinated or not, and want to remind you of the following:

  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Stay home if you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive or has indicated symptoms of COVID.
  • Wash your hands frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover your mouth with tissues whenever you sneeze.
  • Avoid people who are sick with respiratory symptoms.
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces.
  • Wear a mask and social distance.

IMPORTANT! When we hold our exams, we limit the number of people in our testing room. We test no more than 10 candidates at a time. If we have more than 10 signed up, we will do multiple sessions that day. If this is the case, we will notify you as to when your test time is. As noted on our website 10:00 AM will be our first testing session of the day. We will schedule the exams at 45-minute intervals. We expect that our candidates have studied sufficiently in order to pass their exams, therefore, those candidates who do not pass their initial exams and want to re-test, will have to wait for another time slot to open up. Candidates who want to take multiple exams at this session (e.g., their Technician and General Class license exams) will be allotted additional time.

If you are not notified of a different testing time, then your test will begin at 10:00 AM.

We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming exam session.
